The Dogs of Chernobyl, 35 Years Later: A Story of Hope and Resilience via Zoom
Stephen Quandt, a feline behavior specialist for the Animal Care Centers of New York, went to Chernobyl in 2019 as part of a campaign to spay, neuter, and research the dogs left behind during the nuclear reactor accident 35 years ago. This rare look at Chernobyl and the dogs (and some people) who continue to live there is at times poignant and in the end hopeful. Far from tragic, it is a story of resilience, hope, life, and even heroism. Registration begins on March 2 via the library's Web site. The Zoom invitation will be sent out one day prior to the program.
