Reverend Horton Heat with special guests Black Joe Lewis and Pinata Protest
Get ready for a high-octane night of psychobilly fire as Reverend Horton Heat brings his unmistakable brand of country-blues-rock revival to the Paramount Hudson Valley stage. Led by Jim Heath—described as a revelator and a “time-travelling space-cowboy on an endless interstellar musical tour”—the Reverend Horton Heat live experience is nothing short of transformative. Fans can expect flames flying off guitars, primal rock-and-roll energy, and a show that feels like being dropped into a futuristic 1950s teen-exploitation film. With Jimbo Wallace incinerating the stand-up bass and the Rev channeling icons from Screamin’ Jay Hawkins to Buddy Holly, their music injects “pure musical nitrous into the hot-rod engine of your heart,” powering through legendary tracks ranging from “Big Sky” to “400 Bucks” to “Psychobilly Freakout.” After twenty-five years of blazing a mythic trail across the globe, this band continues to rock harder, drive faster, and live truer than anyone else on the planet. Joining the bill is Black Joe Lewis, a stone-cold original whose gut-bucket blues guitar and raw, powerful voice have made him one of the last true torchbearers of the garage-soul explosion. Having weathered the highs and lows of the industry—from national acclaim to pouring concrete during COVID to support his family—Joe has only sharpened his sound and deepened his authenticity. His live performances land in the explosive spaces once occupied by James Brown, Lightnin’ Hopkins, and the MC5, honed over years of sharing the stage with icons such as Sharon Jones, Charles Bradley, Cedric Burnside, and The Dirtbombs. Joe isn’t chasing trends—he plays for the “intrepid, degenerate weirdos” who truly get it, bringing a voice and presence that could only happen in the live moment. Opening the night is the San Antonio-born Piñata Protest, an accordion-powered Tex-Mex punk rock force known for fusing the lively rhythms of the Mexican button accordion with high-energy punk attitude. Founded by singer-accordionist Álvaro Del Norte, the band ignites crowds to mosh, skank, and spin with their bilingual, genre-bending sound. With over a decade of touring across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico—including past bills with Reverend Horton Heat—they’ve earned acclaim for their electrifying performances, festival appearances, and chart success with their album El Valiente, which debuted at #7 on the Latin Billboard Top 100. *As a reminder, no outside food or drink permitted in the venue. Any patron found with outside alcohol, is subject to removal. Backpacks and large bags are not permitted inside of the venue. All guests are subject to bag checks and security wanding upon entry.
