Wali has played guitar with various musical artists including Taj Mahal, Norman Connors, Donny Hathaway, Bobbi Humphrey, Melvin Van Peebles, Noel Pointer, Lonnie Liston Smith, Peter Tosh, and Stanley Turrentine. Porter Carroll is of Atlantic Starr fame and contributed to classic hits like "Circles", "Am I Dreaming", "Let's Get Closer", "Touch a Four Leaf Clover" and others. He's also a vocalist for Spyro Gyra, Melba Moore, and Michael Bolton, and most recently has toured with Earth Wind and Fire.
