HVGCC Monthly Networking Event October 2024
David Schepperly currently serves as Plant Manager at Wheelabrator Westchester, the WIN Waste Innovations waste-to-energy facility located in Peekskill, New York. A management professional with extensive experience in engineering, clean energy, and safety and environmental compliance, David is committed to the company’s core mission of efficient and sustainable curb-to-grid recycling, waste management, and clean energy production. He oversees the operations, budget, and regulatory compliance at the facility as well as its 65 full-time employees and 35 area vendors and contractors. Prior to accepting this position with WIN Waste, David worked for more than a decade with Entergy, where he managed a billion-dollar nuclear energy facility capable of generating up to fifteen percent of New York City’s electrical power needs. At the age of 27, David earned his Senior Reactor Operator (SRO) license from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, which made him one of the youngest in the industry to receive that distinction. He earned his BS in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute — where he also played football — and completed his MBA at Marist College in Poughkeepsie. David has spent his working career in Westchester County where he and his family regularly participate in community development and improvement initiatives on behalf of WIN Waste and its partnering organizations.
