An all-ages walking tour from the Putnam History Museum through Foundry Cove, with a focus on the Indigenous History of the area. Join us on Sunday, October 15th, at 1 pm, for an all-ages walking tour of the Foundry Cove in Cold Spring, starting at the Putnam History Museum (63 Chestnut Street) and lasting about 1 hour. PHM Staff will lead visitors from the PHM’s recent exhibition Indigenous Peoples in Putnam County, on a guided tour into Scenic Hudson’s West Point Foundry Preserve, where visitors will learn about Indigenous use of the land and water in the area for thousands of years. This curator-led tour will begin at the museum’s recent exhibition, and visitors will have the opportunity to view Indigenous artifacts, including projectile points, axe-heads, scrapers, and pestles; as well as several incredible replicas, including a dug-out canoe, pottery, a deer-toe rattle, and mortar. Difficulty: Easy to moderate, one large hill to descend/climb.
