SUMMARY:Harry Chapin Memorial Run Against Hunger
DESCRIPTION:An amazing tradition that is a lot of fun since 1981!  Organized by an all-volunteer committee and supported and sponsored by many local community groups and businesses!  We are a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and proceeds benefit the Croton-Cortlandt Food Pantry\, Croton Caring Committee\, Caring for the Homeless of Peekskill\, Hillside Food Outreach in Pleasantville\, Food Bank for Westchester\, WhyHunger (co-founed by Harry Chapin)\, the Carolyn Belshe Orphanage in Mozambique\, and the Institut Montfort School for Deaf and Deaf-Blind Children in Haiti.\n\n \n\nThree events in one day!  Join us for the 5K (3.1 Mile) Run-Walk\, the 1-Mile Fun Run\, and/or the 10K Race!  Participate as a team with friends/family/colleagues or come by yourself!  Visit our website at www.runagainsthunger.com for videos and pictures.\n\n \n\n5K Run-Walk (9:00 a.m.):  First 300 registrants receive a FREE custom-designed t-shirt and a FREE bonus gift!  Beautiful\, scenic route.  Run or walk -- your choice!  Medals to the top three male and female finishers in varous age categories!  Post run-walk refreshments including fresh fruit\, bottled water\, and granola bars.\n\n\n\n10K Race (10:00AM):  FREE custom-designed t-shirt for the first 300 registrants.  Medals and apple pies from Baked By Susan for the top 3 male and female finishers in various age categories.  $100\, $75\, or $50 gift card to Run on Hudson Valley to the first\, second and third place (respectively) overall male and female finishers.  Post-race refreshments including fresh fruit\, bottled water\, granola bars\n\n \n\n1-Mile Fun Run (11:30AM):  All child participants receive a FREE custom-designed medal!  Fun for people of all ages!  Top 3 male and female child finishers.  Wave starts (one for pre-K to 4th grade\; the other for grades 5 and up)
