Andr is the fascinating British spy who conspired with the disgruntled American general Benedict Arnold to surrender West Point to the British during the American Revolution. Major Andr \, 30\, was famously captured by New York militiamen under an ancient tree in Sleepy Hollow and then faced a military tribunal on charges of espionage in Tappan. Other noted Revolutionary War figures who appear in the play including George Washington\, Alexander Hamilton\, General Nathanael Greene\, and the Marquis de Lafayette. This play also imagines what happens between Major Andr and a mysterious woman known only as "the Innkeeper's Wife\," and the impact she has on the young British spy as he awaits his fate. Explore an important and intriguing chapter of American history that played out along the Hudson River\, in the shadow of West Point\, and just a few miles from the Paramount Theater.
